Sorry guys, you need to do a little real-world research, too.  <a href="http://ramp.ucsd.edu/~bellardo/pubs/usenix-sec03-80211dos-html/aio.html">These guys</a> published in Usenix about a <b>year ago</b>.  Sure, it's bad, but it's nothing new.
