Autodetect channels, airpcap support restored dr Newcore will now auto-detect the channels a card is capable of (in most cases) and use them automatically. The channels will be automatically organized to minimize overlap (never hopping to adjacent channels and splitting bands). This means you'll no longer have to worry about specifying foo_a foo_g etc, it will automatically detect 11a capable cards; Additionally devices which properly report alternate bands (such as 4.9ghz) will automatically be supported. Limitations: Madwifi-ng (surprise, mwng acts funny). Using a monitor mode or managed mode mw-ng vap will correctly detect channels. Using the wifi0 base interface will not be able to detect channels, and will fall back to the default channel definitions. How to get the old behavior: Specify a channellist in the source, such as ncsource=wlan0:channellist=ieee80211b If multiple sources are defined at the same time and support the same channel list, they will split hopping so they don't overlap, automatically. Also, cace airpcap support works again on windows; with the Airpcap NX, Kismet even detects the 4GHz channels it supports automatically and adds them to the list. Airpcap support is simplified, most basic use case for a single airpcap card is ncsource=airpcap
