More than WEP, upcoming release, 2.6.11 patches dr Thanks to Josh Wright, Kismet now detects and handles WPA, EAP, LEAP, TLS, TTLS, ISAKMP, and some VPN detection. Old clients will see all of these as 'wep'. New clients will see it as an expanded list of what is supported. Also, channel-change errors are now buffered. Previously, a card would drop dead if it got an error changing channel. Now, it will only completely fail if 5 channel change commands in a row fail. This will help coast over intermittent errors and should still error out when the drivers have totally gone out to lunch. Thanks to Jason Carr, the Orinoco-Rfmon patch applies to 2.6.11 now without complaint for those who feel the need to leap to the new kernel (I don't, but suit yourself). Finally, a new release is imminent, adding assorted cards, bugfixes, etc. Get -devel and give it a try and let me know of any snags.
