Subject:Kismet on N810 with Bluetooth GPS?

dragorn it appears that you were on the right track.

After a little while of messing around I finally found a working technique.

I did the following:

1. Ran "hcitool scan" to find out the Bluetooth MAC Address of my TomTom BT GPS.

2. Then edited /etc/bluetooth/rfcomm.conf and uncommented the rfcomm0 section changing

"bind" to yes, device to MAC, "channel 1" (for mine anyway, hcitool will tell you correct channel), and "comment" if wanted.

3. Before running Kismet I run "rfcomm connect 0 &"

4. I press enter to return to command line

5. In my /etc/kismet/kismet.conf file I have

gps=true
gpstype=serial
gpsdevice=/dev/rfcomm0
gpsmodelock=true (not sure if this is needed for all GPSes)
gpsreconnect=true

6. Run Kismet as normal

7. To kill the Bluetooth connection you can either type in fg to get back to the rfcomm program and hit Ctrl-C or just do "killall rfcomm".
