Subject:What is the expected format in the OUI file?
Date:17:30:39 20/10/2010

g'day,

I am so sorry to ask, I have looked in as many places as possible.

I am trying to get the OUI file to work in /etc/manfu

What is the expected format that Kismet 2010-07-R1 expects to see in the file?

Should the file be a certain name:

i.e. <something>.OUI

I am using a Mac with OS X 10.6

Should the file contents look like:

"
00:00:0C:00:00:00/FF:FF:FF:00:00:00 Cisco Unknown 0
00:00:74:00:00:00/FF:FF:FF:00:00:00 Ricoh Unknown 0
00:00:92:00:00:00/FF:FF:FF:00:00:00 Cogent Unknown 0
00:00:AA:00:00:00/FF:FF:FF:00:00:00 Xerox Unknown 0
00:00:C5:00:00:00/FF:FF:FF:00:00:00 FarallonCo Unknown 0
00:00:CE:00:00:00/FF:FF:FF:00:00:00 Megadata Unknown 0
00:00:DE:00:00:00/FF:FF:FF:00:00:00 Unigraph Unknown 0
00:01:03:00:00:00/FF:FF:FF:00:00:00 3Com Unknown 0
00:01:24:00:00:00/FF:FF:FF:00:00:00 SMC Unknown default 6 192.168.2.1
00:01:24:24:00:00/FF:FF:FF:FF:00:00 SMC SMC7004AWBR default 6 192.168.2.1
"

the sed command in the ieee-manuf-tr.sh seems to convert the OUI file from IEEE through to:

00:10:38:00:00:00/FF:FF:FF:00:00:00MICRO RESEARCH INSTITUTE, INCUnknown0

from the command (I have changed the -n switch to a -e):

echo "00-10-38 (hex)MICRO RESEARCH INSTITUTE, INC" | sed -e 's,^\(..\)-\(..\)-\(..\)[ ]*(hex)[ ]*\(.*\)$,\1:\2:\3:00:00:00/FF:FF:FF:00:00:00\4Unknown0,p'

does this seem correct output, I have loaded a version into the /etc/manuf directory and it still does not parse it.

again my apologise, I cannot find much in the documented (Section 13) on the actual specific details of file format or file name.
