Subject:kismet_client will not start
Date:06:59:46 13/01/2009

just installed kismet on my gentoo box. when i run kismet it returns this message:

tank@localhost ~ $ kismet
Launching kismet_server: /usr/bin/kismet_server
Done.

so i'm aware the server side is running. but it does not start the client. instead it returns me to a command prompt. when i run kismet_client it returns this:

tank@localhost ~ $ kismet_client

it would seem to me that kismet cannot start any sort of UI, be it panel or curses based. i installed this package thru portage on gentoo, and i verified that all package dependencies were fulfilled. this has really had me scratching my head tonight.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
