I installed kismet and everything is working fine when the tool is launched with the root user!
I am trying to launch kismet with a standart user called xyz.
i edited the /etc/kismet/kismet.conf file as:

suiduser = xyz
piddir = /home/xyz/

When i try the kismet command from xyz, i have an error saying:

xyz@ubuntu:/etc$ kismet
Server options: none
Client options: none
Starting server...
Suid priv-dropping disabled. This may not be secure.
No specific sources given to be enabled, all will be enabled.

channel 6...
Waiting for server to start before starting UI...
FATAL: SetIFFlags: Unknown interface eth1: Permission denied
[1] + Done(1) ${BIN}/kismet_server --silent ${server}

CAn you help me?
i don't understand why i have "Suid priv-dropping disabled."

Thanks a lot
