Subject:build error with iwl4965 fedora 8
Date:05:40:31 13/12/2007

I'm fairly new to Linux. I can install and do basic stuff but I am in the process of learning as much as I can now. I cant get kismet to run. When I try I receive the following error:

[root@localhost ~]# kismet
Launching kismet_server: /usr/local/bin/kismet_server
Will drop privs to mathew (500) gid 500
No specific sources given to be enabled, all will be enabled.
Non-RFMon VAPs will be destroyed on multi-vap interfaces (ie, madwifi-ng)
Enabling channel hopping.
Enabling channel splitting.
FATAL: Support for capture source type 'iwl4965' was not built. Check the output from 'configure' for more information about why it might not have been compiled in.
Done.

Any suggestions on how to resolve problem. Any help would be great. I really want to get this working. Thanks in advance for any helpful posts.

Also here is my source configuration and version from kismet.conf file:

# Version of Kismet config
version=2007.09.R1

# Sources are defined as:
# source=sourcetype,interface,name[,initialchannel]
# Source types and required drivers are listed in the README under the
# CAPTURE SOURCES section.
# The initial channel is optional, if hopping is not enabled it can be used
# to set the channel the interface listens on.
# YOU MUST CHANGE THIS TO BE THE SOURCE YOU WANT TO USE
source=iwl4965,wlan0,addme
