Good to hear Nils, can you let me have some more details on your distribution / packages / configuration and kismet.conf settings ?

I am currently using a Fujitsu Siemens Computers Notebook Amilo Si1520 with built in ipw3945 WLAN with openSUSE 10.3 beta1. From alpha7 openSUSE dropped the old ipw3945 driver and ieee80211 stack in favour of iwlwifi ( iwl3945 ) and mac80211 stack.

The interface has changed from eth1 to wlan0, and if I reflect that in kismet.conf I get:

#kismet
Server options: none
Client options: none
Starting server...
Waiting for server to start before starting UI...
Will drop privs to jcd (1001) gid 100
No specific sources given to be enabled, all will be enabled.
Enabling channel hopping.
Enabling channel splitting.
FATAL: Support for capture source type 'ipw3945' was not built. Check the output from 'configure' for more information about why it might not have been compiled in.

Same with Kismet download and compile from here.

Thanks for helping out.
