try running:

lspci look for which entry is your wireless adapter
lsmod look for the module corresponding to your wireless adapter
iwconfig and it might give you a hint as to what your wireless adapter is called

as far as dmesg output, start scanning for eth* or wlan* or the name of your wireless adapter and read what is right above or below that
