Subject:capture source type not built

I'm installing kismet in Sabayon/Gentoo. I've tried 2 different capture sources, a madwifi card and on board ipw3945. Both report this error when starting the server.

I've attempted to build the emerge manually and can see no obvious errors in the configure output.
