Hi,
I've searched the forum for an answer to this query, and googled too.
When looking at the Kismet output, I'm interested int eh encryption being used. I've noticed that Kismet is more accurate than other tools, but still rather vague, for example:
WEP,TKIP,WPA
WEP,WEP40,TKIP,WPA,AES-CCM
WEP
None
Seem to be the four re-occurring encryption types being identified for the networks I am looking at.
I was just wondering if I need to capture a large section of packets to hone the identification of the encryption type, or is this as accurate as it gets?
I look forwards to your responses.
Tia
