ok, checked out todays kismet-devel svn, and yes, now it tries to create kis0... but:

sniff:/home/xxx/kismet # kismet_server
Will drop privs to xxx (1000) gid 100

it still creates only kis0, and then the conflict occurs.

config:

source=madwifi_a,wifi0,WAG311
source=madwifi_g,wifi1,WG311T
enablesources=WAG311,WG311T

ifconfig:

i tried also to destroy both ath's before starting kismet_server.

when the server quits, it tries to deactivate kis0 two times, and obviously fails:

WARNING: Error disabling monitor mode:
WARNING: WG311T (wifi1) left in an unknown state. You may need to manually
restart or reconfigure it for normal operation.
WARNING: Sometimes cards don't always come out of monitor mode
cleanly. If your card is not fully working, you may need to
restart or reconfigure it for normal operation.
Kismet exiting.

when i use only one card, it works normally for both of them. so no obvious hardware problem.
