Subject:GPS Drops Fix every few seconds

Every network I log during that time gets coordinates of -90, 180 or something like that. My GPS sends NMEA packets every second, and watching it on xgps the fix comes reliably every second even kismet is reporting no fix for quite a period of time. I'm running kismet 2006.04-R1 as included in Debian Unstable. Anyone know how I could get the GPS fix stuff to work? I've tried gpsmodelock true and false, with no change. Thanks,

More to the point, many current gpsd versions are just plain broken with many chipsets. The absolute latest gpsd seems to have fixed the severe issues with SIRF, which caused it to report junk locks, etc.
