Subject:Which capture source entry to use for RTL8187 with Kismet-2005-01-R1?

> I'd like to use a Netgear WG111v2 wireless USB adapter with Kismet. This adapter uses the RTL8187 chipset, a relative of the RTL8180 chipset, and I have compiled the Linux native driver for it that was written by Andrea Merello. Since I haven't succeeded as yet in compiling Kismet-2005-08-R1 which provides specific support for the RTL8180, I may again have to try Kismet 2005-01-R1 which doesn't explicitly support this chipset.
> For example, when I used "source=rt8180,eth1,rtlsource" with Kismet 2005-01-R1, it rejected this, saying it didn't recognize rt8180 as a valid entry. Would some other capture source entry from among the ones available for Kismet-2005-01-R1 work for the RTL8187 chipset?

You need to use a modern kismet (latest release or SVN source). There is no support for it on older versions.
