Subject:Kismet compile fails at make install

just checked this my end and it only failed when the symbolic link for man did not exist ie /usr/local/man -> /share/man
if /share/man did not exist then i got your error
if i then created that dir
mkdir -p /share/man
then tried again it installed fine.


> I compiled Kismet-2005-08-R1 from source using g++ v.3.3.5, after installing libncurses5-dev. The ./configure and make steps went without a hitch but make install failed with the following messages:

> mkdir -p /usr/local/bin

> mkdir -p /usr/local/man/man1
> mkdir: cannot create directory `/usr/local/man': File exists
> make[1]: *** [commoninstall] Error 1
> make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/robert/kismet-2005-08-R1'
> make: *** [install] Error 2
> #
> In /usr/local there is no directory "man" but rather a symbolic link "man" which points to /share/man/. What do I need to do to fix this stalled make install?
