Hi,
i'm new to the world of Linux and wireless networking, i've installed my card with the followings rpms :
ieee80211-kmdl-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6-1.2.15-14.fc6.at.i686
ipw3945d-1.7.22-4.at.i386
ipw3945-kmdl-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6-1.1.0-14.fc6.at.i686
ipw3945-ucode-1.13-2.at.noarch
So it works perfectly and i can connect to the internet through it
But i can't launch Kismet although i've read the README file and i configure the kismet.conf file like this
suiduser=nameofmyuser
source=ipw3945,eth1,anything
this is the message that i get when i run kismet
Source 0 (Intel Pro/Wireless): Enabling monitor mode for ipw3945 source interface eth1 channel 6...
FATAL: Failed to set monitor mode: Invalid argument. This usually means your drivers either do not support monitor mode, or use a different mechanism for getting to it. Make sure you have a version of your drivers that support monitor mode, and consult the troubleshooting section of the README
may someone help me, thx
