so i haven't changed the drone version on my wrt (2005.08.R1) yet; i couldn't find the switches needed to compile a small build.
i should note that when i run the server on the wrt directly i have no problem logging in from OS X with the corresponding (2005.08.R1) kismet client.
i did compile and install newcore (Build 1656, i believe). i started the drone on the wrt with source 'wrt54g,eth1,wrt54g' and then the newcore server with source 'drone,tcp://192.168.1.2:3501,drone'. the interesting thing is that the 'version mismatch' error seems to be gone. here's a partial console dump:

The drone responds with:

This cycle continues every 5 seconds (auto reconnect enabled).
