I have a 5600 running ROM 1.0 which I believe is equavalent to 5500 3.10, atleast it is kernel 2.4.18-mk7-pxa3-embedix. I can get kismet to work for 3-4 minutes, until the nework status goes from initializing to offline. Here is what I have done to get to this point:
1. edit /etc/pcmcia/networks.opts
CARDSUSPEND=n
2. edit network settings TCP/IP (Use wizard)
specify TCP/IP information
set ip to 0.0.0.0
set mask to 255.255.255.0 or blank, tried both
left gateway blank
3. start kismet_monitor
kismet_monitor -H would run for 3-4 minutes then error out
kismet_monitor would run for 3-4 minutes and stop gathering data
Now it will work for ~3min 40 sec while the network status shows initializing. When status goes to offline kismet wouldn't see anything. NIC seems to think it is still initializing, the led is blinking.
If I wait until status says network offline, with LED still blinking and start kismet_monitor LED goes solid green (like normal) but it doesn't see anything.
I have a Linksys WCF12 card.
So close.....any tips?
