Hey all,
Trying to see if someone can help me with a slight problem. I'm kind of new to Kismet, so please bear with me.
Okay, so I installed Kismet Newcore on an old Dell Latitude D400. I am using an Orinoco Gold wireless card. When I do an iwconfig it shows that the card is in monitor mode, and I forced it into monitor mode per kismet's README file.
The problem is, the whole purpose I'm using Kismet is to monitor rogue AP's at work to see if there is something that is here and shouldn't be. I really need the signal information to be shown (Signal, SNR), and I cant seem to get it displayed. I added it in the columns section of the Kismet_ui.conf file, and also enabled it via the GUI.
I see the two tabs in the GUI for signal and SNR, but Kismet isn't reporting it. If I sort by channel and look at a particular connection, it just says 'No signal data available'
Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and/or if anyone knows how to get the SNR and signal strength displayed properly.
