Hi there!
I'm using a Sharp Zaurus SL-C1000 (PDA), it works well with Kismet, but it lacks of a integrated WLAN and GPS receiver. I have to use a WLAN CompactFlash card (D-Link DCF-660W) to connect and scan WLAN networks (works also in monitor mode).
What I'm missing is GPS data, I also have a GPS receiver, a Garmin Edge 305 (cycle computer + GPSr), stupidly I can only connect to it via USB.
This works well under Ubuntu Linux 7.10 on my PC (with gpsd). Even though the Zaurus has a USB port, I can't connect my GPS to it, the GPS unit consumes to much power (for re-charging) than the Zaurus can provide on the USB port.
In the end, I need to get a new GPS receiver. I can get an old Garmin GPS unit (age > 8 years) from a friend of mine with a RS-232 connector, but even then I have to buy an USB-to-Serial converter to use it with my Zaurus.
Recently, I've red this post

Where tz says that a GPS receiver can also be connected through the Microphone input of the Zaurus, that would be great for me, so my question is: What needs to be done, so that I can connect a GPS unit to the microphone jack of my Zaurus and get the data into Kismet, and how exactly does this work?
Is it a serial connection through audio signals or something?
Thanks,
Chris
